Drive-Thru Tithe, Super-Size Joy

Jeff Steele directs our Parking Lot ministry. Sunday February 20 he and Keith Hollar were standing out by Hulen Street waving, welcoming people onto the campus (Keith is incredibly energetic and gifted at this!).

A young woman (Jeff thinks she was "18 or 21" which was, to me, a fun way of saying he had no clue) wearing a McDonald's uniform drove into the lot, stopped and handed Jeff a wad of cash saying, "Please tithe this for me. I can't go my church this morning 'cause I got called into work, but I just had to tithe."

Jeff came to the microphone at the start of my sermon and told the church, "This just shows you there are good people out there and every ministry has its place."

I can't agree more, and was so glad when the church responded with rousing applause. The cheers go to God and the anonymous drive-thru tither who super-sized our joy with her gift.
