I ended my last article a bit on the edge because there's more...
So...what if everything you thought you liked...you really didn't.
What if everything that brought you joy, happiness, gratification, and excitement...didn't.
But you thought it did.
What if everything you thought was for sure...wasn’t.
Ephesians 4:22 says "put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires."
Hmmmmmmm....deceitful desires?
Could it be...boys and girls ladies and gentlemen...that satan has us
(culture, society, the way we think, mankind itself)
so fooled by what we think we want...
what we think feels good…
what we think we need…
that we don't really know what we want! What feels good & what we need.
Could it be that at the highest high, the climax of gratification, the joy of sin (because it is fun OR WE WOULDN”T DO IT)
Could it be that things like this…that we think we really do like, we actually hate...we just don't know it.
Truth is our desires...(what we like...what feels "good") are deceitful. We don't even know we hate them...crazy right!
Jesus offers us this world where “what ifs” disappear, and are replaced by words filled with awe, words like “how about that.”
In Matthew 6 Jesus shows us how to pray and actually encourages us to “invite heaven to invade earth.”
If we lived this type of lifestyle (inviting heaven to earth, through us) I believe that we would then be able to have eyes to see & ears to hear.
And when we have eyes to see & ears to hear, it’s crazy but we begin to understand this word “desire” the way the Holy Spirit intended us to.
So may you desire the reality of heaven, and discover a world filled with “how about that” instead of “what if.”
