News And Events

M25

Inspired by the teachings of Jesus in Matthew 25 and James 1, Mission 25 (M25) draws our attention to the sick, hungry, thirsty, strangers, widows, orphans, and other forgotten members of society.

Events you can participate in:

Saturday, April 22

 *Garage Sale
This event helps to serve three purposes: First, it provides our neighborhood families with nice household items at a very cheap price. Second, it provides the elderly of our church family a service by providing volunteers to clear their homes of unwanted items that they are unable to move themselves. Third, it provides our youth with opportunities to work and to help subsidize the costs of camp. Here’s how you can participate: Donate goods, help pick up donated goods, set up for the sale on Thursday and Friday, work the garage sale on Saturday, or shop the sale for bargains. The garage sale is 7:00am to 1:00pm.

*Neighborhood Needs
Join the Saturday team and help provide food, clothing and love to those in need from our local community. (10:00am- 11:30am)

*Woodway Elementary

Landscaping
Volunteer to help beautify the front flowerbeds in the morning.
(8:00am- noon)

Festival
Prepare/serve lunch at the festival in the afternoon. Bring the kids and have a fun time playing games with other families from the community.
(11:00am - 3:30pm) Festival is noon to 3:00pm.

Sunday, April 23

*Prayer Bear
Help Cook Children's Pastoral Care department by donating NEW, WELL-MADE stuffed bears (to meet hygiene requirements and remain usable during extended hospital stays) of medium size that would be easy for children to hold. These bears are prayed for, blessed, and then given with a prayer to ill or injured children to provide comfort and help decrease anxiety during their hospital stay at Cook Children's Medical Center. Bears. Drop off dates are April 9, 16, 23.

*Blood Drive
Donating blood is an overlooked opportunity to care for the sick. Only a small percentage of people are eligible to give and even a smaller percentage of that number actually give annually. Come and find out if you are part of this special group. Roll up your sleeve and donate!
(8:00am-12:00pm)

*Care Packages to Home-bound Members
Share part of your afternoon with one of our home-bound Altamesa members. We will have a care package ready for you to share on your visit.

*Community Garden
Helping and encouraging the gardeners by renovating garden areas, minor repairs, mulching, weeding and planting. (2:00pm-4:00pm)

 *Sunday Lunch Challenge
As a way to ‘invite the stranger in…’, the all church challenge for M25 is to have/host lunch with others you do not know well. So, choose whom you will invite and then go for it!
