FriendSpeak

The FriendSpeak ministry is an outreach ministry helping people in our community who need to practice their English.

 
We help people who speak English as their second language. Each class or session is one-to-one and uses materials with texts from the Simple English Version of the New Testament. The goal is to use English in a friendly setting to bring the Gospel to unsaved people. You don't have to know a foreign language to be a FriendSpeak worker. You just need a heart for the lost and a willingness to make new friends.

FriendSpeak pairs workers (Christians) with "readers" who already know some English. Workers meet with their readers once a week for about an hour to read through a lesson and get to know each other. Each lesson has a significant point, or "seed thought." These are step stones to a faith in Jesus as God's Son. As friendships grow there are opportunities for the reader to ask questions about God and for the worker to share his/her faith.
