The Values of the Church

We should value what Jesus values! We’ve looked at the life and ministry of Jesus. We’ve considered what He taught, what He said, and what He did. We believe this list of twelve values reflects the things in life that Jesus values:

  1. Love: Jesus says loving God and loving people are our first and second priorities.
  2. Worship: Bringing glory to God in corporate assemblies as well as our daily life
  3. Grace: We get from God what we need, not what we deserve. We give the same to one another.
  4. Prayer: Conversation with God that helps us know Him and makes His will clear to us.
  5. Equipping: We need to be thoroughly trained to serve God. Jesus prepared people for ministry released them to serve. He still does this!
  6. Witnessing: We give the world an eye-witness account of our experience with God. God wants everyone to be saved and so do we.
  7. Community of Believers: We develop relationships in large gatherings and in small groups to share our lives, grow in our beliefs, and to encourage a lifestyle consistent with believing in God.
  8. Giving: Jesus gave it all and so do we. This is sharing our time, talent, and treasure to bring honor to God.
  9. Unity: A body of people, diverse in many ways, but sharing the same life and purpose. This is not to be mistake for conformity!
  10. Following: We are disciples of Jesus. We are apprentices to a Master teacher.
  11. Transformation: The whole point of life is to change, to become more like God.
  12. Social Justice: Jesus shows compassion to the outcast and disheartened.
