Emptied to Receive: rest and redemption for the people of God

Series Description:

The letter to the Hebrews is actually a sermon in written form. It is written to wavering Christians encouraging them not to give up faith and hope in Jesus Christ. The author is a preacher who uses all their learning and persuasive powers to exhort believers not give up. In this series, we will consider the biblical exhortations offered and how they can inspire us today to faithfully follow the triune God. During this Lenten season headed toward Easter, we will contemplate emptying ourselves of pride, weariness, death and doubt in order to receive from God rest, hope, life and assurance. These promises of God found within the pages of Hebrews can re-write and transform the story of our lives.  This series will start March 31.
