Seven: what we learn from the churches of Revelation
Series Description: In the opening chapters of Revelation, Jesus speaks directly to seven churches – real people facing real temptations, struggles, and spiritual dangers. At the root of every warning, Jesus emphasizes sin as rebellion against and failure to love God; however, Christ does not address these churches to condemn them, but to call them back. Again and again, he urges them to repent – to confess their sins and reclaim their first love. As Jesus exposes their sin and calls them back, he assures them (and us) that God’s gracious forgiveness is sufficient for every church and every believer. In this series, we are invited to hear Christ’s voice, confront our own spiritual condition, and rediscover the hope found in the One who overcame death to give us life.
