The Epistle of James is much like the book of Proverbs in its timber. In fact, some have even referred to it as the “Proverbs of the New Testament.” Through the years, this wonderful writing has been considered by some to be a writing which touts salvation by works. This is simply not the case. In this study, we will discover that to the contrary, James is very much a book of faith and clearly gives us a pattern of obedience produced by faith which as the apostle Paul says makes us, “appear as lights in the world” (Phil 2:16).

Starting September 21

From Pilate, in conversation with Jesus, to Johnny Cash, voicing the question of youth in the late 60’s, there has always been a question of what truth is. In the gospels, the Truth is not a proposition, but rather a person: Jesus. In this series on the topic of Truth as presented in Scripture, our class will discuss and explore together ways to live out that Truth in our lives today as followers of Jesus our Savior and King.
